"This publication, which is no way an academic paper, humbly attempts to document the three-year journey for the inconceivable passage of the CARPER law through a compilation of articles from the different perspectives of those who actively participated in the campaign. It is also a means of showing our gratitude to all the groups, individuals and institutions (both government and non-government) that joined and supported this historic campaign for the passage of CARPER. And lastly, this publication is dedicated in memoriam to all the farmers and leaders who have sacrificed their lives and have shed blood for the agrarian cause. In particular, we remember Ka Rene Penas and Ka Vic Paglinawan who were martyred during the CARPER campaign."
